Trio Con Variazioni: Presenting the Music of Beethoven, Newman, and Mozart.

Min-Young Kim, of the Daedalus String Quartet (Quartet-in-Residence at UPenn) has toured extensively in the United States and Europe with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Musicians from Marlboro and American Chamber Players, and has collaborated with members of the Guarneri, Juilliard, Cleveland, and Takacs Quartets. She has performed as a soloist with Apollo's Fire, the Cleveland Baroque Orchestra, the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra, and the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra. Her principal teachers have been Donald Weilerstein, Robert Mann, and Shirley Givens. She is a graduate of Harvard University and the Juilliard School and lives with her husband and children in Philadelphia.

Meng Wang joined the Philadelphia Orchestra in 2017. As a chamber musician he has collaborated with artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Joshua Bell, Sharon Robinson, Jaime Laredo, Joseph Silverstein, Pinchas Zukerman, Lang Lang, Barbara Westphal and pop star Bono. He has performed throughout the United States and his native China, including at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, The Library of Congress, Kennedy Center and the Beijing National Theater. Mr. Wang has performed at summer festivals including the Verbier Music Festival, Marlboro Music Festival, Music Academy of the West and the Sarasota Music Festival. In his native China, Mr. Wang studied violin at Central Music Conservatory in Beijing. He immigrated to the United States to study viola at New England Conservatory and later at the Curtis Institute of Music.

Clancy Newman, first prize winner of the prestigious Walter W. Naumburg International Competition and recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant, has had the unusual career of a performer/composer. He is a winner of numerous competitions and has performed as soloist throughout the United States, as well as in Europe, Asia, Canada, and Australia. Clancy premiered his Four Pieces for Solo Cello at the Violoncello Society in New York, his Sonata for Cello and Piano in New York's Weill Hall, and his Four Seasons of Life for cello and string orchestra with Symphony in C in Philadelphia. His wildly successful "Pop-Unpopped" project, in which he writes solo cello caprices based on pop songs, has been ongoing since 2014 and has led to an exploration of cello techniques heretofore unimagined, gaining over eighty thousand views on YouTube. He recently released a CD with pianist Natalie Zhu, From Method to Madness.
